Emergency Services

Sweetwater does not have medical or ambulance services.  The nearest emergency treatment facilities are located  at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs (35 minutes).  The town of Eagle does have a medical center, however it is not 24/7 at this time.

Local residents hope the proposed Roundup River Ranch will be a community asset for emergency medical care during the summer months, but the camp has made no offer or commitment at this time.

The Gypsum Fire District has identified the need for a fire station in the Sweetwater area and included the concept in its Master Plan.  The nearest fire station is located in Dotsero, which is approximately 8 miles from Sweetwater.
